It seems I do need the straps! My forearms and hands are on fire when I do my lat pull downs. I let go because they hurt
I use basketball shoes, they lift your heels as well
The belt and wrist wraps can actually help beginners learn proper form. For example, I had a bad habit of hyperextending my wrists before wearing wraps and now I never hyperextend them with or without wraps.
